The Different Types of Arthritis

There are actually more different types of arthritis than we are initially led to believe or we only know about the most common.

Take a second to list how many you know about. Was it two types?

The most common that people recall is Rheumatoid Arthritis and Psoriatic Arthritis but you might be surprised at the long list of contenders.

A few different types of arthritis – Rheumatoid, Juvenile Arthritis, Psoriatic, Osteoarthritis, Systemic Lupus, Reactive Arthritis and a few more.

Most commonly are the inflammatory types, which are inflammation of the joints and other tissues. These are normally autoimmune diseases where the immune system starts to attack the body and results in targeted areas breaking down. They are normally characterized by pain, swelling and tenderness. It can either be localized arthritis (only affecting a select part of the body) or more commonly systemic which affects the whole body.

Sadly as there is no cure, each case is treated depending on the severity and symptoms but a combination of natural treatment and self-care normally relieve symptoms.
